Grace Church "All you can eat" Bean Supper 3/12
Grace Church at 1401 West Main Street will have an "all you can eat" Bean Supper on Friday, March 12th from 4 to 7PM. The menu includes beans and ham, cornbread, slaw, vegetable soup, pie, and drink. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $3.50 for those 12 and under.

Catholic Charities 16th Annual Empty Bowls 3/25 The 16th annual Empty Bowls Dinner presented by the Wittenberg University Arts Students is on Thursday, March 25th rom 4 to 7:30PM at the central dining room on Wittenberg's campus. Beautifully hand-crafted bowls are just $15 each. You can fill your bowl with various soups and salads, and you keep your bowl as a reminder of hunger in our community. Free tax preparation is available for low-income families in Champaign County. Tri-County Community Action wants to help families and individuals meet their filing obligations, find credits they may not know about, and protect from unnecessary costs. Catholic Charities of Southwestern Ohio Free Tax Filing
Catholic Charities of Southwestern Ohio and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Clark, Champaig, and Logan Counties is assisting local residents with free tax filing during the 2010 tax season. Trained counselors will be available through April 15th, Monday through Friday to file taxes at the Catholic Charities offices in Springfield and Urbana. Clark County HEAP Programs
The Clark County Regular HEAP program runs from September 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010 and the Emergency HEAP Program runs November 2, 2009 to March 31, 2010. This program helps low-income families with a one-time payment to their primary heating vendor to assist with the high cost of home heating. You must have a shut off notice or actually be shut off to apply for Emergency HEAP. Second Harvest Food Bank
The Second Harvest Food Bank of Clark, Champaign, and Logan Counties are currently accepting applications for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program for seniors. This is a federal USDA food and nutriction program serving nutritionally at-risk, income eligible adults. To participate, you must be age 60 or older, a reside in Clark, Champaign, or Logan Counties, and meet further guidlines, proof of age, and residency.
